We have family members on board who will oversee the professional landscaping team as they work to improve our Family Burial Ground. Cousin Stanley Doughty is the project manager. His daughter, Theresa and his brother Mark will be the on-site managers.

Together, we believe that we have a good idea of how the family would like to see the final resting place of our dearly departed loved ones. At a minimum, like all other cemeteries, the property should be clean and leveled with a manicured-lawn look.

This week we will finalize details with the professional landscaper. Here are a few of the things that we will ask for:

  1. Cost of services.

  2. Project length of time.

  3. Start and completion date.

  4. All four lots to be cleared and leveled up to the property lines.

  5. Debris, trees, garbage, old fencing, broken concrete and overgrowth removed from property.

  6. A walkway to be cleared, starting at the entryway and going to the back property line.

  7. A driveway to be cleared for necessary vehicles, starting at opposite entryway and going to the back property line.

  8. Photos and videos showing progress to be provided to me at end of day.

  9. A commitment to have someone mow the lawn and maintain the cemetery every two weeks.

I'm sure there are other improvements that should be made. If you have any suggestions, drop it in the comments section.

Most importantly, let's support and encourage our eyes and voice on the ground - cousins Stanley, Theresa and Mark.

About Me

I'm just one of the many descendants of Ardola Vicks who believes that our family has unlimited potential. While it's true that many of us live miles apart, we will forever have so much in common - ancestry, beliefs, etc.

Our mission, if we choose to accept it, is to identify and achieve as many common goals as possible. That is the spirit in which this blog was created.
